My Name is Tracy Farris, and i was born here in Bryan. I’ve shown horses since I was 4-5 yrs old. I started painting when I was 31. I oil paint. I paint only horses, but would like to paint more landscapes and still life. I work for Texas A&M AgriLife Research here in College Station. I love to read and travel. I have a 20 year old daughter who attends Texas Tech in Lubbock. I look forward to painting more and meeting new people who enjoy the arts as much as I do!

I am a local artist who enjoys working with watercolor, acrylic, oil, glass, ceramics, and metals. I enjoy incorporating surrealistic imagery and abstract expression. I was born and raised in Bryan, and I now live in the country in a small tiny home that I helped to construct with friends. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Metalsmithing & Jewelry from the University of North Texas in 2021. As a certified yoga instructor, my goals with my artistic expression are aimed at incorporating mindfulness with the creative act.
I believe that the true beauty of a work lies within the dedication to the refinement of skills from the craftsman combined with the spiritual growth of the consciousness. I generally try to actualize aesthetically pleasing designs, and I enjoy learning about the physical world around me to strengthen the forms I create. In combination with yogic philosophy, other major inspirations for my art include human anatomy, scientific phenomena, evolution, and the psychological implications of inner work. This is my first plein air competition, and I’m excited to practice a looser approach to painting!
