Hello, my Facebook page title is, "Jacqui Miller, Artist?" The question mark is intentional. After careers as a horsewoman, riding instructor, graphic designer, art director, and business owner, I've returned to art in what I think of as my fith chapter. While others may comfortably call me an artist, I'm still growing into the title myself. What I do know is that I've always been drawn to creating, questioning, and communicating through images. Today, my work combines sculpture, mixed media, photography, and found objects to explore identity, perception, social issues, and the stories we tell ourselves. I'm less interested in having answers than in asking questions—inviting viewers to pause, look a little deeper, and perhaps see something from a new perspective. So whether I'm an artist or still becoming one, the journey itself is an important part of the work.
