VAS helps in meeting & connecting with other artists, and provides great opportunities to learn & try new techniques. I love that VAS gives back to the community in numerous ways...scholarships, showcasing artist, and the Aggieland Art Trail...to name a few.

VAS is a very active and engaging group of like-minded individuals with a great love of all things art. Through their various art exhibitions, I've been able to not only exhibit but sell a few pieces. I have met wonderfully talented artists and been able to grow as an artist. I can't say enough good things about this organization.

Moving from a different state I was concerned about finding a new creative “Home”. I have been Blessed to have found VAS Bryan/College Station. As a member of VAS I have found tremendous support for growing both as an Artist and Friend of many creative minds.

I always think of the scene at the end of the Wizard of Oz, when the Wizard takes off in the ballon that Dorthy jumped out of to chase ToTo...One of the inhabitants of Oz asks the Wizard "Where are you going???" and the Wizard replies, "I go to commune with my fellow wizards!" VAS is where my fellow 'wizards' hang out: galleries, shows, lunch, paint outs, etc. It's a benefit to hang with others that are of like interests.

For me, the Visual Art Society is much more than an art organization—it is a welcoming community of artists who inspire, encourage, and support one another. As both an artist and gallery director, I especially value how VAS brings together people with different backgrounds, styles, and experiences while creating opportunities to learn, exhibit, and grow together. I believe organizations like VAS make our community stronger by connecting artists and making art more accessible to everyone. I would encourage any artist, whether just beginning or well established, to join because of the friendships, inspiration, and opportunities to become part of a vibrant creative community.
