This is our annual General Member meeting to vote on proposed slate of new officers for the board of directors. It is important to attend to learn more about our new board and current information about VAS.
Our May meeting features photographer, June Russell. As a nature photographer, June uses her chosen medium as a way to share what she experiences when out in nature. “By remaining true to the colors and forms I find in nature, I represent the almost ineffable beauty that surrounds me. A photographer captures a moment so you’re always looking for something special.”
June hasbeen a fine art photographer for over twenty-five years and has had 5 solo exhibitions and been in numerous group shows. Russell has made presentations to art groups in Texas and Colorado and her work is included in collections around the country. The majority of her work is inspired by nature and often focuses on making abstract images from very close-up photography. June is also creating a totally different body of work based on light patterns and called Visible Frequencies. She is currently serving on the board of directors for Women in the Visual and Literary Arts (WIVLA) for the fifth time.
Our meeting begins with a 30 minute social time followed by the presentation. The public is invited!
