Hello Friend! Here is the latest from your Visual Art Society! We hope to see you at our "Who Are You? meet and greet event September 1st at Degallery.

From the President

I can't believe it's already the start of a new school year. And with a new school year, we also begin meeting again. We are super exited to kick off this fiftieth year as a group with a Meet and Greet on September 1 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at DeGallery. This will just be an informal gathering to touch base and reconnect.
You will also notice a much better website experience. Carol has been working hard to improve the speed and efficiency of our website.
Don't forget, we have locations in the area for displaying your art and we are looking for members with pieces to show. Just keep in mind that these locations require family friendly work so no nudity or controversial pieces. Right now, you can enjoy Lauren Foster's and Guadalupe Drumgoogle's work at the Brazos Center and Lauren Foster's and Jami Bevans's work at Perrine Winery. Several members have work on display at the Wyndham.

Hope to see you soon!
Jami Bevans

Problem Children...a powerpoint presentation about the different stages of our paintings presented by artist Sue Bishop.
When it comes to dealing with children, everyone experiences a multitude of emotions. Love, amazement, disappointment, anger, frustration, helplessness...these are only a few. According to our presenter, "This is a natural occurrence. " If we are honest with ourselves, we have the same emotions when it comes to our art work. Let us discuss what we can do when our paintings turn into Problem Children.
