DESCRIPTION:As a VAS member\, you may show/sell your art for free at the First Saturday Art Market 11am-4pm on the Degallery grounds. You also have the use of a free tent (there are 7 available). Contact Dary\, the owner of Degallery\, a week ahead by emailing her HERE. It would be great to promote the Visual Art Society at your booth. As a note\, items under $100 sell better. DESCRIPTION:  \n \nMeet Jeannette Guetersloh at our September 8 meeting! She was featured in our April VAS Art Spotlight.  Jeannette is an artist who\, while proficient in many media\, is currently focusing on textiles.  Her inspiration is based on the customs and arts of other cultures.   She connects the heritage of the past to the present\, creating Art as Fashion…or is it Fashion as Art?  This piece is called “Sacred Spirit of the Ancient Ones.” \nDoors open at DEGALLERY at 5:30pm for our Sept 8 meeting – the first meeting of the fall.    There will be light refreshments.  Come by a bit early\, chat and catch up!

DESCRIPTION:  \n \nA Blustery Day in downtown Bryan:  (l to r)  Amanda Arnold\, Mindy Austin\, Wendy Keeney-Kennicutt \nVAS member and board member\, Mindy Austin is inviting everyone to the very first meeting of the Plein Air Tuesday group! \n\nWhen:  Tuesday Sept 23  9:30am – 12 noon\nWhere:  Boonville Heritage Park\,  2421 Boonville Road\, Bryan TX  77802  Check out our Aggieland Art Trail post\nWhere to meet: at the entrance gate\nParking: There is a little parking at the entrance\, but it is OK to park at the medical office next door.\nWhat to bring:  Supplies\, easel or table tray\, a chair if you would like. snacks or lunch.  Mindy used a French easel with an attached box (see picture)\, but this is not necessary.  You will be working independently in whatever medium you choose.\nIf you have any questions\, please call Mindy at 972-218-4418 or email her at mindyaustin79@gmail.com.\nThe group will be deciding when and where the next meeting will be.  Mindy is excited to share her love of painting outdoors with everyone!  She has been attending plein air festivals around Texas and beyond for many years.\n\n
